Week 8

This week we arranged group discussion to develop more effective policies, programs and planned to reduce disaster impacts, collected, shared, discussed and found solutions to the problems.

One of the examples from nicenet discussion thread:
FROM: nika janiashvili (6/14/14 3:09AM)
SUBJECT: How to survive an Earthquake

"If you are in a building you should steady yourself. Hold onto a solid object or get to the floor so that you do not fall. Use your hands and arms to protect your head and neck from falling objects. Do not move. If it is safe to do so, stay where you are for a minute or two, until you are sure the shaking has stopped. When everything is over slowly and carefully leave the building and check your house or the building you are in for fires or other forms of damage. If you need water to put out a fire, you can get some from a water heater, but be careful, as the water is hot."

Now it's high time for final assessment.
The groups are assessed according to the given rubrics:

Week 6

(P.S.  Our on-line meetings were passive for some time as we had  a week's holidays. Then  problems with Internet connection occurred at school.)

Nina found the video and shared it with the group members. It will be one of the resources to make their presentation effective.         Volcano Eruption

Tiko's group made an   Interview  about the Japanese Earthquake according to the watched video:

And they also made a Power Point presentation about  Holocaust...

Week 5

Now we are moving to another step of our project. This time we're going to make a Power Point presentation. For this Sts will have to use Internet and research "Disaster Survival Guide":

Though they can find some more info for themselves...

After researching Sts must take down the facts and other notes. They must understand its usage and brainstorm 3-4 possible preventions that could be made in future, discuss it between each other.

Week 4

Now the task is to make an interview according to the watched video, then to record it on any technical device ( phone, i-pod, camera...) and upload the recording on the class blog.
If any problems about the instruction or other issues, Sts should contact the teacher... :)
